Work Based Learning Program Data Center Operations Technician

Job summaryAmazon Web Services (AWS) is growing rapidly, and we are looking for a Data Center Technician to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team as part of our Work-Based Learning Program (WBLP).
Amazon has multiple WBLP trainee openings, and will start all technicians in December 2022.
These trainees will participate in our 12-week work and training program in our San Francisco Data Centers.
Responsibilities:
o Ensure overall availability and reliability for our customers within our Data Centerso Install new rack equipmento Decommission existing rackso Repair and diagnose broken serverso Handle computer equipment and partso Manage network gear during installation, decommissioning, and repairIn addition, all candidates should be willing to work both independently and with a team.
Work prioritization, organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to react quickly are critical to being successful.
Physical Requirements:
o Walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch.
Work at heights and from ladders o Regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds unassisted; and participate in group lifts for 36 pounds or moreo Must be able to lift loads of up to 49 pounds and carry them for short distanceso Continuously climb and descend stairs safely (applies to sites with stairs)o Reach and stretch to position equipment and fixtures while maintaining balanceo Push or pull heavy objects into positiono Daily travel between sites may be requiredo Ability to stand for long periods of timeHere at AWS, we embrace our differences.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
