A New Product Development Engineer at ALW actively designs ALW luminaires and presents formal objectives and schedules for all phases of Product Development, from conception to market introduction.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Works in sync with Product Manager to design and launch products throughout for complete lifecycle - Conception to Launch
Proactively engages in identifying market trends and awareness, and implementing trends and innovation into ALW's product offering
Works swiftly on schedule in the regular launch of ALW Luminaires, providing detailed and vetted product information to our Engineering, Marketing and Sales team
Maintains accurate timeline and organized product information, including all material documentation, such as ETL/UL
Works closely without our Product Manager and Inventory Manager to ensure the appropriate materials and parts are inventoried for market launch and rollout
Stays up-to-date on quality standards, parts design and efficiency/efficacy requirements of ALW's Luminaires.
Works directly with the Product Manager, CEO and Director of Brand Marketing to implement well-rounded luminaires, providing complete product information for an effective Product launch (material diagrams, engineering drawings, etc.)
Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements)

Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of experience in Lighting Product Design and/or Degree in Engineering in or Design related field
Strong familiarity with Solid works software
Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
Relocation benefits are not provided for this role. Only local candidates residing within 50 miles of Hayward, CA will be considered.
